“Spiritual Retreat” is a property immersed in the green hills of Umbria in the municipality of Pietralunga, with 9 rooms, a church from around the year 1000 used as a common room for yoga and seminars, as well as 3.6 hectares of forest. The property is located a few kilometers from Gubbio and Città di Castello, 35 km from Tuscany, 650 meters above sea level. It is framed by wooded hills which offer excellent hiking opportunities. It is a property divided into 3 separate buildings, but united over the years into a single body. The most fascinating room is certainly the meditation/conference room, obtained from a rural church probably dating back to around the year 1000. The rooms are simple but complete with the necessary comforts to host guests and groups for the numerous courses that the owners offer cyclically. Indeed, this place is ideal for those who want to continue the same type of work and for those who appreciate nature, the simplicity of country life and silence. The property can be reached from Pietralunga with an asphalted road, except for the last 300 meters of gravel road, which is maintained year round. The main house is accessed via stone steps. On the ground floor we have an entrance hall, breakfast room/common area, a bathroom, living room with fireplace, kitchen equipped with an industrial hood and some pantry rooms. The upper floor is accessed via a staircase in the hall or a secondary access from the kitchen. From the main staircase we find two bedrooms that share a bathroom. On this floor we find another 3 bedrooms with a bathroom and a balcony. One of the 3 rooms, very large, is currently divided with wooden panels to create two other small rooms, which can however be easily removed to restore the original space. At the center of the complex, we find a beautiful patio accessible from the kitchen or from the meditation room, where you can enjoy lunch or dinner in company in the summer. In the part adjacent to the old church, we find the guest rooms, all three facing south, with independent entrance, bathroom and loft. On the side of the structure, we have 4 other independent bedrooms with bathrooms of different sizes, as well as the technical room. The structure is completed by a large fund, a laundry room and another pantry room. There is a swimming pool built in 2005 in irregularly shaped masonry (chlorine). The property also has 3 yurts served by an external bathroom with shower, which are available during the months of activity for further groups.

State of repair

The renovation of the property took place gradually from 1994 to 1999. The materials used are simple and in harmony with the type of property. The windows are made of wood and double glass. The flooring is in wood on the first floor, terracotta and tiles in the rest of the building. The roof was redone in 1994. The facades are in stone, except in the north facade, where it is partly in masonry (but the stone can be brought out).

Utilities

There are 3 scatter septic tanks. There is a fireplace and a wood stove. The heating is powered by LPG. The water is supplied by a spring with pump and autoclave. The water purification system takes place with UV rays.

The property is ideal for continuing the work of more than twenty years of personal and spiritual development and aggregation center for groups and seminars. The business carried out by the owners is well known in its sector and it is desirable and advisable that the new owner can continue it.
